Dan's second co-edited book, Men and Masculinities: Theoretical Foundations and Promising Practices for Supporting College Men's Development, with colleague, Brian McGowan, was published in June 2019 by Stylus Publishing.  Men and Masculinities was written for students, faculty, and staff interested in building and implementing various types of programs designed to support college men as they navigate higher education institutions, particularly through conversations of gender and masculinity.

Dan's first edited book, with co-editor, Paige Haber-Curran, Critical Perspectives on Gender and Student Leadership, was published by Jossey-Bass's New Directions for Student Leadership monograph series in June 2017.  This monograph has eight chapters that discuss gender and leadership using a critical lens for high school and college student populations.  This work is designed for leadership educator and provides helpful suggestions and ideas in helping men, women, and trans* students learn about the ways leadership and gender go hand in hand.

Dan has also published several book chapters in the following texts: Today's College Student (chapter on college men & masculinities; Peter Lang, 2014) and Intersectionality and Higher Education: Theory, Research, & Practice (chapter with Z Nicolazzo on intersectionality & research design; Lexington Books, 2014/2015), and a solo-authored book chapter in Intersectionality in Education Research (chapter on intersectionality of gay college males and their meaning-making of their multiple identities; Stylus, 2015).  Dan's work on his research on men who have survived sexual violence in college has been published in Intersections of Identity and Sexual Violence in College: Centering  Minoritized Students' Voices (Stylus).  He was also a contributing author to the Exploring Leadership Facilitator's Guide (3rd edition), published by Jossey-Bass in 2013.
